Treating the Mind-Body Connection Using Complementary and Alternative Medicine

In an effort to align the mission of increasing awareness in services offered to the community, Timeka provides Trauma Informed Care Consultation/Training to educational systems ranging from daycare centers to colleges/universities.  Consultation/Training services are also provided to any organization who seeks to modify their policies and procedures to reflect a more sensitive environment for those who have been exposed to trauma and need assistance with professional development training of staff to implement trauma informed care practices.

Consultation and training will be tailored to your organization's specific strengths, needs, and challenges to reflect SAMHSA's (Substance and Mental Health Services Administration) concept of trauma informed care:

  1. Realizes the widespread impact of trauma;
  2. Recognizes the signs and symptoms of trauma in clients, families, staff, and others involved with the system;
  3. Responds by fully integrating knowledge about trauma into policies, procedures, and practices; and
  4. Seeks to actively resist re-traumatization.

With the pervasive nature of school and workplace gun violence incidents and staff experiences with secondary traumatic stress, your school or organization would greatly benefit from acquiring the necessary tools and skills to adequately assess and address the impact that trauma has on the people that you support!
