Timeka Hayes is the owner of Hayes Medical Integration, whose mission is to provide AWARENESS of mental health, increase ACCESS to comprehensive and alternative medical services, and promote ACCEPTANCE of seeking psychological services within communities. Keeping in line with this mission and maintaining a commitment to give back to her community, she offers pro bono psychotherapy services several times throughout the year to those who may not have insurance and cannot afford to self-pay for services.
Timeka is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, Licensed Massage Therapist, and Certified Medical Massage Therapist. Timeka has been in the psychotherapy field for 20 years. She received two Bachelor Degrees simultaneously in Justice Studies and Psychology from North Carolina Wesleyan College while serving active duty in the United States Air Force. She then went on to receive her Masters Degree in Counseling from the University of Illinois with an emphasis on the human development life span and marriage and family therapy. Timeka is currently working on a her Ph.D. conducting further research on molecular genetics as it relates to human behavior in those exposed to trauma. She also provides consultation on trauma sensitive policy development in education.
Over the years, Timeka has provided psychotherapy in outpatient clinics, residential treatment facilities, schools, client homes, the corrections system, hospitals, and a military base to those with depression, anxiety, psychotic disorders, bi-polar, eating disorders, borderline personality, childhood disorders, substance disorders and Dissociative Identity Disorder (formerly known as Multiple Personality Disorder). She has also worked with domestic violence and sexual assault survivors and adolescent sex offenders.
Timeka's diverse training includes providing services to all ages across the life span: toddlers, elementary, middle school, and high school students, adults, and the elderly. Her specific niche is working with adolescents and adults with depression, anxiety, and trauma (including intergenerational trauma, marital infidelity, and perinatal mental health). She, especially, enjoys working with childhood emotional neglect in adults, sexual assault, and suicidal ideation/attempt.
As a Qualified Supervisor for the State of Florida for Registered Mental Health Counselor Interns, Timeka adequately prepares registered interns for 2 years before entering the field as licensed counselors/psychotherapists. She also provides consultation/training to counselors who are in the process of obtaining their Masters Degree.
Timeka has been in the massage field since 2010. She attended Harrison College where she completed over 800 hours of education and training during the 18-month rigorous program (including Anatomy/Physiology, Advanced Anatomy/Physiology, Kinesiology, and Medical Terminology) and was bestowed the honor of Valedictorian. She travels throughout the state of Florida for ongoing training as a Certified Medical Massage Practitioner.
In her spare time, Timeka loves to spend time with her family laughing and engaging in adventure like snow skiing, parasailing, kayaking, jet skiing, traveling internationally, and trying new restaurants. She emphasizes with her patients the importance in balancing time with others with practicing daily self-care. She finds balance in reading each night, using aromatherapy, singing, listening to multiple genres of music, watching comedy and political commentary, and renting Redbox movies.
