Welcome to Hayes Medical Integration! Providing psychotherapy is my life's mission. During my senior year in high school, my friend was murdered by other students at the high school that he believed were his friends, and after the tragic death, school administration had a difficult time assisting the students in their grieving process. Because we were not opening up about our grief as they had hoped, administration came up with an ingenious idea to train, any of us who were interested, to become peer counselors. We went away to an off-site retreat for training to learn active listening skills and to process our own grief before being released to bring healing to our fellow classmates. It was during this retreat that I realized that this is what I was put on this earth to do-to create a safe space for others to process disturbing situations and to support them in their healing process! Allow me to utilize my 24 years of professional experience to help you build resilience, despite your current circumstance!

EXPERIENCE
My experience includes serving active duty in the Air Force (Disabled Veteran) and subsequent work with military personnel and their dependents in private practice and on military bases as a Military Consultant, work in community-based mental health (hospital, outpatient clinic, schools, family homes), residential treatment facility, and directing the Social Services Departments for a nursing facility and a non-for-profit community agency.
I have operated my private practice for the last eight years and have also served as a Education Psychological Consultant for education systems throughout the nation.
SPECIALIZATIONS
I have been trained, extensively, by THE WORLD'S LEADING TRAUMA EXPERT, Bessel van der Kolk, M.D. who is an author, researcher, professor of Psychiatry at Boston University School of Medicine, and president of the Trauma Research Foundation in Brookline, Massachusetts.
Also trained by:
Frank G. Anderson, M.D. on Internal Family Systems. Dr. Anderson is both a psychiatrist and psychotherapist, national trauma expert, author, and lead trainer at the IFS Training Institute who integrates cutting-edge neuroscience knowledge in his training of the IFS model of therapy.
J. Eric Gentry, Ph.D., LMHC who is a trauma expert, author, and internationally recognized leader in the field of disaster and clinical traumatology.
Advanced training in grief and loss by GRIEF and LOSS expert, David Kessler, the most renowned expert on grief and loss.
Advanced trainings also in PERINATAL MENTAL HEALTH and SUICIDE PREVENTION/INTERVENTION.
Most of my clients consist of doctors, nurses, teachers, at-home-moms, military personnel and their dependents, veterans, middle school/high school/college students, entrepreneurs, police officers, and other professionals who experience issues with mood, worry, sleep, confidence level, work-life-balance, relationship communication and infidelity, unresolved trauma experiences, grief and loss, or any issues that may be preventing them from operating at their fullest potential.
PERSONAL INTERESTS
When I am not working, I enjoy international travel, art museums, live theater, water sports, sunrises and sunsets on the beach, weekly yoga and guided meditation sessions, comedy, dancing, reading about science/health, history, and trauma, writing poetry and books, and spending time with family/friends.
